Neighborhood Highlights

The Hideout is set in a modern neighborhood in Yucca Valley. Just a short drive to cute restaurants, Pappy & Harriets, or Desierto Alto. An easy drive to Joshua Tree National Park or The Integatron.

Joshua Tree

The park should be fully open and all hikes are accessible. Do be aware that pups are not permitted in trails in the park. Inside the park, Skull Rock and Jumbo Rocks are quintessential Joshua Tree sites to see without any hiking. Huge round rocks. Hidden Valley hike has a bit of everything the park is known for, so take that pretty easy hike if you can. Cholla Cactus garden could go either way in my opinion. It’s one of the further drives (almost an hour from the park entrance) but does have some noteworthy views to it. Google images of it so you can decide for yourself. Keys View is a don’t miss for sunset, it’s just GRAND. It’s about 20 minutes from the Park Blvd entrance and no hiking, so totally an easy to get to view. Hands down the best sunset in the park is Keys. It gets chilly and windy at Keys during sunset so bring jackets! Pappy & Harriets

The Saloon, Red Dog and Pappy and Harriets are not to be skipped. Both Red Dog and Pappy and Harriets are part of a fun old western town with a restaurant/ bar but also SUPER great for unique experience & ambiance. I’d go up there just before sunset and take a look around the old western town before having dinner. From there, the sunset is great so you’ll definitely get some good views. For nicer dining options (but still chill desert vibes) head out to Kitchen In the Desert in 29 Palms or La Copine (lunch only) in Landers. They’re both top-level restaurants in the middle of a gorgeous desert patio, so a culinary and visual treat. I highly recommend checking out Tiny Pony (very close by in Yucca). It’s the new hot spot in town for drinks and great food.

The Noah Purifoy museum is an unforgettable outdoor collection of quirky outdoor art.

Joshua Tree Coffee Company

The best coffee in the desert is at Joshua Tree Coffee Company, so grab a cup and some beans to take home.

The shops that start just past The Station are all super cute and worth a stroll around (especially on a Saturday when there is a farmer’s market and all the shops are open). They highlight some of the cutest aspects of the local scene. There are some quirky features such as a crochet museum there.

The Integatron

The Integatron is a famous sound bath in a dome here. It’s a unique local experience, but DOES REQUIRE ADVANCE RESERVATIONS.
